When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch’s curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. The story follows a Baker and his wife, who wish to have a child Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King’s Festival and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. And a cow, a cape, a slipper, hair, and a curse. INTO THE WOODS, with a score and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and a book by James Lapine, is populated by all of the fairytale characters that you know and love, thrown into an epic journey about parents, children, and wishes about the choices we make and about the consequences of those choices.
